What retirement looks like when the door finally opens
I am a recently-retired clinical associate professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of British Columbia and was in active practice at a large teaching hospital in the city. Even though I'm no longer on call, I find myself occasionally commuting from a small island nearby where I used to raise and breed llamas. Nowadays, you might find a few lonely sheep acting as eco-warriors in the spring and summer but they're only transient borders, I'm afraid. I now find I have a lot more time to write (and paraglide, and run, and hike and travel and…). I’ve written several novels and even a humourous travelogue published in Ebook format.
